Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Sauce:
  • If using fresh tomatoes, roast them in a skillet over medium heat until charred and softened. Let them cool slightly, then blend with the onion, garlic, and dried chiles until smooth. If using jarred salsa, you can skip this step.
  • In a saucepan, combine the blended sauce with 2 cups of water or chicken broth. Simmer for about 10 minutes to allow the flavors to meld. Season with salt to taste.

  • In a large skillet, heat a small amount of oil over medium heat. Add the tortilla chips and fry until they are crispy and golden brown. Alternatively, you can use store-bought tortilla chips.
